Stamford Bridge 2018

Nicola Browne and Kim Lees starred as Stamford Bridge celebrated winning the division 7 crown with a 75-33 win at Wilberfoss, this sees them leapfrog Sheriff Hutton to take the title. Elsewhere, Carole Martin and Heather Hogg won all their rubbers as Dunnington trounced Rufforth to finish in third place.

The Bradshaw sisters, Eleanor and Anna, were unbeaten for Wigginton as they drew with division 1 champions York 1. The point means Wig will retain their division 1 status leaving York seconds looking likely for the drop. Pocklington finished as runners up as they destroyed Dunnington 84-24, Mel Duncan and Cordie Cavill netting 30 games for Pock, though they were bettered by team mates Ruth and Rebecca Hill.

Fulford have wrapped up the division 2 title with back to back victories over Rufforth and Boston Spa. Captain Jill McCreedy and Charlotte O’ Shea top scored in both matches to lead Fulford back into the top flight. Starbeck’s 68-40 win at Castlegarth sees them promoted in second place, Helen Halsall and Dee Nolan scoring 29 games for the Harrogate based club. Pocklington finished their season with a victory at David Lloyd, Josephine Nutman and Sheila Williams bagging 21 games in the 55-53 win.

The top two teams met in division 3, although positions were already decided, it was second placed Wistow that edged a 56-52 win to spoil champions Dunnington’s 100% record, Ali Wortley and Lisa Hunter top scoring for Wistow. Copmanthorpe and Knaresborough had a good mid table battle to end their season, Cop coming out as 57-51 victors. Jill Street and Gill McGrory were unbeaten for Bubwith as they closed their campaign with a win against Boston Spa.
